Activision CEO says slowing economy may lead to console price cuts

“With the rising costs of fuel and food and housing, it is more difficult to go out and buy a USD 399 console, and I think it’s going to put pressure on the console manufacturers to reduce their prices.” - Activision CEO, Bobby Kotick

On one hand, we have GameStop and Nintendo saying that the state of the economy

isn’t really having an impact on the game industry. On the other hand, Mr. Kotick believes that things could get poor abundant to warrant price drops. I really am 50/50 on the situation, I can’t build up my mind. What do you guys have to say?
