Biting the Apple

I was honestly very surprised to see all the talk of the iPhone while at E3. Media outlets were including iPhone and iTunes questions during their interviews with company big-wigs. Nintendo alone was asked multiple times as to whether they view the iPhone as a threat to the DS. I don’t think Nintendo has to anguish about anything like that, but I do think that Apple is inching more towards gaming.

Third parties were talking Apple, as well. There are plans to launch a music store in Guitar Hero that is basically,

the iTunes of the video game world. It’s going to be very interesting to see how that project works out.

There seems to be more interest in Apple than ever before. Industry members/fans of gaming have often talked about Apple joining in the race. Now, it seems like they are slowly but surely coming our way. In some aspect, they are actively pursuing it. In others, the rest of the game industry is pulling Apple in.
