Future of PS3 & Xbox 360 is casual gaming - GTA IV & Wii show why

GTA IV came out to massive sales, and will continue to build upon those for years to come. With such a big title, you would expect console sales to shoot up. The thing is, for the two months following the launch of GTA IV, the Wii was still the number-one console. It looks like the casual pull really might be the way the industry is heading.

We already know that Microsoft is definitely going to try their hand at more casual titles. The

leaked knowledge from last weekend pointed towards that. plus, Microsoft has been inching closer and closer to casual titles through their XBLA releases. Sony is doing their best with their casual games like Buzz and EyeToy titles, and they too are rumored to be working on a Wiimote-like controller.

Has Wii ushered in the casual experience, and is the entire industry going to turn that way? Check out the spread here.
