Square-Enix needs to go beyond Square-Enix games

We face competition not only from Japanese videogame companies but from game companies worldwide. We plus see some new players from outside the videogame industry coming in… Economies of scale and breadth of scope is getting fundamental. We can definitely see that Square-Enix is trying that new approach. The release of The World Ends With You was a bold step, and Sigma Harmonics continues in that direction. Basically, any game that doesn’t have the words ‘Final Fantasy’ tied to it is a huge leap for the company!
