Wii is next-gen…in memory, at least

Not too expanded ago, I was talking with JTS about solid-state storage. For those that don’t know, solid-state storage features no moving parts, making for less risk of mechanical failure. The hard drive in your computer is not solid-state, but your jump drive is. Flash cards are another example of solid-state storage.

The Wii features support for SD cards, and has 512 MB of flash memory…both of which

are solid-state. The PC industry is moving in the solid-state direction due to the cheaper costs, lesser fail-rates, and smaller sizes. When you look at the Wii from that point of view, it’s already ahead of the game.

Too poor Nintendo won’t let us use these features to their fullest abilities.
